Welcome to a new year!
The past two years of the global COVID-19 pandemic has changed life for us all. As we look to the year ahead, Healing the Children (HTC) is cautiously optimistic that a few chapters might go abroad to long established medical sites and we could bring a few children stateside for urgent care. We are making these plans with an abundance of caution. HTC continues to grow our work here in the US by helping families with medical care, PPE supplies, food, and medical equipment. Our International Medical Assistance Program (IMAP) saw more engagement last year as chapters worked with medical professionals abroad to sponsor children for care in a nearby country, thus reducing costs. Our newest project with OhanaOne to implement the use of surgical sight glasses is detailed below.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Monday, January 17, 2022, we will observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which honors the birthday as well as life and legacy of the American civil rights leader.
Born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, the Nobel Peace Prize winner was an emerging leader of the civil rights movement the eight years leading up to August 1963 when he delivered his famed "I Have a Dream" speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to a crowd of 250,000 and inspired a nation.
This January 17, is the perfect time to reflect and take action on civil rights issues across the globe. Learn more about Dr. King's legacy and life at https://nationaltoday.com/martin-luther-king-jr-day.
An Innovative Partnership

HTC is "reimagining our work" though an exciting partnership with OhanaOne to implement a unique and innovative way of helping provide medical care for children around the world. To date, we have three projects on board and anticipate a few more chapters joining soon. You can read about this in more detail in our 2020 Annual Report.
